NASA Mission Integration Operations

July 23, 1999- Shuttle Columbia launch (STS-93) is carrying a revolutionary mid-deck experiment designed, built, and flight-qualified by ZelTech's Space Operations Division

The experiment, called the Quintronix Voice Improvement Technology Demonstration Experiment, features a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Unit designed to test a revolutionary voice processing technology that enhances voice quality while simultaneously suppressing background noise in wireless communication applications.

During Columbia's 5-day mission, the astronauts will connect the DSP Unit to the Shuttle's HAM radio equipment and will evaluate the technology during air-to-ground conversations with school children and other HAM radio operators around the world.

Two ZelTech Space Operations engineers are currently monitoring the air-to-ground communications from NASA's Mission Control Center in Houston, Texas.
