May 14, 2002 - ORINCOM in contract with US Air Force to lead development
of new "Identify and Target" Battlefield Technology

SAN DIEGO, CA, - ORINCON Corporation International announced today that its ORINCON Defense unit comprised of Zel Technologies, LLC (ZelTech), General Dynamics Decision Systems, Titan Systems, Harris Corp, Raytheon, and Lockheed Martin have been selected by the US Air Force Research Laboratory as the prime contractor and system architect and integrator for a new technology that will provide the tools and techniques to reliably and rapidly find, target, and destroy concealed and open enemy battlefield targets.

"We're denying the enemy sanctuary to hide," said Eileen Geier, ORINCON Defense's TUT Capture Manager. "It means increasing the effectiveness of our armed forces as they eliminate threats with greater confidence, more precision and speed, and all using less ordnance."

The $9.5 million three-year contract will be called the Target Under Trees (TUT) Intelligence Fusion System. The architecture, designed and implemented by the ORINCON team of experts in data fusion architectures and integration, will provide greatly enhanced situational awareness for the battlefield commander.

The TUT win is another milestone in the company's growth as it continues to serve the armed forces with innovative technologies that solve complex defense challenges, home and abroad. ORINCON's Sygenex unit recently announced a contract win with the intelligence community for Wisdom™, a capability that supports the homeland defense initiative.

"This is a new and strategically important role for ORINCON as a prime systems contractor," said Arthur P. Garner III, President and COO of ORINCON Corporation International. "ORINCON's unique and open approach to TUT demonstrates our commitment to advancing core technology-based initiatives to achieve greater national security."

The TUT solution rapidly gathers and correlates target information from a wide variety of sensor devices and radars and then clarifies for the operator the precise target being seen - and whether it is civilian (e.g., a school bus) or military (e.g., a tank). TUT also helps determine if the target has already been identified or whether it is new to the battlefield. Most importantly, the system enables operators to detect enemy threats in concealment under trees or behind buildings. TUT highly automates and simplifies a process that usually requires manually going through disparate sources of data, thereby cutting the decision timeline from days to hours.

Work on TUT will be performed in team facilities located in California, Virginia, Arizona, Texas, Florida, and Massachusetts.
