Automated Assistance with Intelligence Preparation of the Battlespace (A2IPB)

A2IPB provides an intelligence analyst with a structured, automated process to collect information about an adversary's tactics, techniques, and procedures for employing his forces and allows a graphical representation of where the threat force will be before it gets there. This predictive capability presents a significant advantage to US forces as it allows US commanders the ability to prepare for and counter enemy activity before threat weapons can be brought to bear against friendly forces.

IPB is a combat proven systematic and continuous process to analyze challenges and opportunities presented to both friendly and adversary forces by a specific operating environment. Applying the IPB process helps the commander determine the adversary's likely course(s) of action (COAs) and selectively apply combat power at critical points in time and space to take full advantage of enemy vulnerabilities.

ZelTech has provided automated assistance to the IPB process, and developed a stand-alone A2IPB system as well as a web version that will be integrated into the Global Command and Control System-Integrated Imagery and Intelligence (GCCS-I3). The goal is to provide actionable, timely, accurate, and continuously updated predictive intelligence in support of commanders' decision making processes and objectives for both Force Application and Force Enhancement.

A2IPB products and information support mission planning and execution from both garrison and deployed locations, and helps establish and prioritize ISR collection and production during readiness and combat operations making optimum use of scarce collection assets. It enables a commander and staff to visualize the full spectrum of adversary capabilities and COAs across all dimensions of the battlespace.
