We have enhanced the processes and technologies needed
for all types of distance learning programs. To allow more rapid growth in
this area, we are seeking corporate and government partners and sponsors.
Some key initiatives:
KIDTECH
Educational outreach is a major thrust of ZelTech’s aggressive community
outreach program. The company and its employees are engaged in numerous efforts
focused on improving literacy. In 1995 ZelTech launched an initiative to provide
free computer training and Internet access to citizens who would not otherwise
have access. That initiative has evolved into an independent nonprofit corporation
called KidTech, which has provided refurbished computers and free computer
training and access to more than 3,000 kids and senior citizens. ZelTech continues
to provide support to that program.
Employees are active members of nonprofit boards and commissions,
and are frequently speakers at schools, seminars, and workshops. The CEO and
staff are also actively involved in mentoring small and startup businesses.
Hampton Technology Laboratory
As a nonprofit community service, we operate a computer learning facility
at our Hampton Technology Laboratory that is managed by a full-time facilitator
and staffed by retired educators and ZelTech technical specialists. The computer
facility introduces young children and senior citizens to computer hardware,
software, and the Internet. It also provides an opportunity for community
interaction and cooperative ventures. We are also training public school teachers
on software applications for use in the classroom.
Corporate Affairs
ZelTech is a leader in corporate collaboration with the Education Community.
Included in these efforts are volunteerism for technology infrastructure development,
teacher training and curriculum development, and internship and mentor programs.
In addition, the company's association with civic and professional organizations
such as the Air Force Association, Armed Forces Communications Electronic
Association (AFCEA), International Association of Old Crows, National Military
Intelligence Association, and the Chamber of Commerce provides collaborative
expertise for strategic technology planning.
Speakers Bureau
ZelTech offers our unique talents and expertise to increase the understanding
of technology's role in the work place, our communities, and our lives. Our
employees speak to community and civic organizations discussing trends in
information technology, the Internet, and enabling technologies, providing
many answers to computer related questions.
