Mr. Ezzell has spent his career applying advanced technology solutions to critical enterprise problems. He has won numerous Virginia and national awards for exceptional business achievement and community service. Jack is a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, holds an MBA degree from the Ohio State University, and is a retired Air Force Colonel.
Jim Grant
President and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Grant has been involved in military, intelligence and security operations for over five decades. He has served as CEO of the National Military Intelligence Association and as a member of a number of industry Boards. Jim is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, received a Master’s Degree in Russian Studies from Georgetown University, and graduated from the National War College. He is a retired Air Force Brigadier General.
Lynn Taylor

Ms. Taylor, CPA, is a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. Her career includes four years of public accounting and over twenty years as a corporate accountant for companies in the health care, public utilities, and government contracting industries. She is a 2006 graduate of the Leadership Institute of the Virginia Peninsula and a 2011 graduate of the Civic Leadership Institute (Hampton Roads).
Ken Sherwood
Vice President, Business Development & External Affairs

Mr. Sherwood has held a number of senior positions at ZelTech ranging from Program Manager to his current position. Ken is a Coast Guard Academy graduate and has a Master’s Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is on his second appointment with the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He is a 2018 graduate of the Chamber's LEAD Peninsula class.
Bill Barfield
President, ZelTech Training Solutions

Mr. Barfield served in the United States Marine Corp for 10 years, and then worked for a number of major aerospace defense contractors developing, producing and fielding sophisticated missile guidance systems, fire control systems and smart ordnance. Over the last 15 years, his concentration has been in the development, production, installation and support of live training engagement simulation systems.
Susan Hughes
Vice President, Contracts and Program Control

Ms. Hughes, a graduate of Christopher Newport University, holds a BS in Accounting. She has held positions in both Accounting and Contract Administration including Administrator, Manager, Director and now Vice President. In the past 30+ years she has worked closely with Government, program management and industry personnel. In her current position she oversees Contract/Subcontract Administration and complete cost proposal preparation.
Dr. Orion Vanderlinde
Senior Vice President, Operations; ZelTech Chief Scientist

Dr. Vanderlinde has supported the DOD with subject matter expertise and program management since 2004. He received his PhD from Florida State University in Biological Science through a joint program with the College of Engineering and the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory where he studied energy transport in disease state tissues using custom designed RF pulse sequences on a 600MHz superconducting wide bore magnet. After three years of post-doctoral work in cancer metastasis, he successfully transitioned his academic career to DOD services supporting programs as a subject matter expert in molecular sequencing, digital signal processing of satellite sensor data, nuclear detonation (NUDET) Prompt Diagnostics effects, neural network design, complex algorithm development, and program management. In his current role with ZelTech, Dr. Vanderlinde oversees ZelTech’s operations in support of customer contracts ensuring strategic alignment with business objectives and he leads the company’s Internal Research and Development (IRAD) and Incubator Program (ZIP) fostering innovative technology development for both government and commercial markets.
Sherri Crawford

Ms. Crawford has managed legal affairs for privately and publicly held companies for over 22 years with 12 years of experience in the Government Contracting sector. After working for a private law firm, she began her in-house legal career in Silicon Valley. Ms. Crawford is responsible for providing and overseeing legal advice in support of the Company’s business. Ms. Crawford obtained her B.A. in English from the University of Virginia and her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law and attended Magdalen College in Oxford, England. She is a Board Member of the Virginia State Bar’s Intellectual Property Section.
Chris Gethers
Director, Facilities and Security

With over 30 years of experience in the United States Air Force, Mr. Gethers manages ZelTech’s security policies, procedures, and capabilities. He has authored security procedures with a corporate security record free of violations. Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Gethers served as Chief, United Nations (UN) Peacekeeping Personnel Operations where he represented the U.S. Government in planning multinational coordination and deployment of U.S. military personnel to 18 UN Peacekeeping Operations.
Shirley Wills

Ms. Wills has over 30+ years of experience in administrative and human resource management. She graduated from Christopher Newport University with a BS, Governmental Administration, and from Troy State University with an MS, Human Resource Management. She serves as a board member of the following local agencies: Hampton Roads Community Action Program, and the Southeastern Virginia Health System.
David Popkin
Vice President, Chief Information Officer

Mr. Popkin, an Old Dominion University graduate, holds a BS in Computer Science. He is charged with managing technology and change in the enterprise. ZelTech 2020 Citizen of the Year
Daila Espeut-Jones
Ms. Daila “Dee” Espeut-Jones is the recipient of the inaugural ZelTech Citizen of the Year Award, presented to her by Jack Ezzell, ZelTech CEO, on 26 January 2021. This award will be presented annually to a ZelTech employee whose outstanding performance best reflects our corporate commitment to civic and charitable initiatives wherever we conduct our operations.
Dee is a retired US Army First Sergeant assigned to ZelTech Training Solutions in Winter Park, Florida where she serves as Program Manager for our development of critical US Army combat training devices.
Following are examples of some of her exceptional contributions to her community in recent years:
- President of the Sunshine Chapter of the Association of the US Army (AUSA), and Chair of the Orange County Mayor’s Veteran’s Advisory Council. In these very senior and highly visible positions, she has represented the interests of veterans in many roundtables with Florida political leaders, fostered close ties between military and civilian communities, and provided substantial recognition and aid to veterans and others in need throughout Central Florida.
- She is an active member of many local and regional civic and charitable organizations, including the Gary Sinise Foundation, Buffalo Soldier Motorcycle club, Semper Fidelis of America, the Kappa Epsilon Psi Military Sorority Inc., Women in Defense – Central Florida, and the Vietnam War Commemoration. She has supported local food banks, the USO and the Red Cross. She also serves as one of three Orlando representatives on the Retiree Appreciation Council at Fort Stewart, GA. In addition, Dee mentors at and provides support to needy students in several schools in South Orlando, serves as the only female mentor at the Orange County Veterans Treatment Court, and has made many personal appearances on local radio and TV in support of our military and military veterans.
Dee has received many prestigious awards honoring her service over the years, including:
- Induction by Governor Ron DeSantis into the Florida Veterans’ Hall of Fame, which honors military veterans who have made significant contributions to the State of Florida.
- One of ten female community leaders who Florida Congressman Darren Soto honored in Feb 2020 in a statement on the Floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to celebrate Women’s History Month.
- Other awards include the Governor’s Veterans Service Award, Recognition of Service by Senator Rick Scott, the Orlando Business Journal’s Veterans of Influence Award and numerous other awards of distinction and certificates of appreciation.
We congratulate Dee for winning this award and thank her for representing ZelTech and its values with such distinction. We are honored and proud to serve alongside her on the ZelTech team.
