IN-HOUSE PROTOTYPING OF ELECTRONICS

Electronic development and prototyping is based on Allegro and ORCAD modeling, simulation, schematic capture, PWA design, and PCB definition as well as software design tools.

Design, Build and Control

Fast schematic and electronic design, Electron configuration management and revision control. PWA build and test including power supplies, oscilloscopes, probes, specialized device placement and extraction tools needed to support initial build and analysis.

Analyze

Logic analyzer for high-speed multiple site digital testing and computer design evaluations as well as Network/spectrum analyzer and various antenna elements for RF transmission testing.

Rapid Prototyping

Various stabilized-lighted microscopes, soldering station, crimping, wiring, and other first article manufacturing elements are used for rapid prototyping of first articles.

Limited Run Initial Production (LRIP) Services

ZelTech produced a first of its kind unmanned system payload for a customer who received a request for 20 complex prototype assemblies. The ZelTech engineering and manufacturing team quickly created a plan to deliver the units required, leveraging both in-house and external resources. The assembly included complex 3D printed parts as part of an integrated fluidics transfer system requiring a precision electronic control for system calibration, monitoring and control.

UAS Payload Ruggedization and Performance Upgrades

At ZelTech Solutions Engineering, we successfully upgraded a DOD customer UAS payload to meet functional performance requirements not met with the original COTS hardware. ZelTech engineers worked with the customer and designed a custom control board from a beta Raspberry Pi design to meet performance objectives while operating under austere environmental conditions. ZelTech Solutions Engineering delivered a ruggedized control board, and made improvements to the mechanical design to enhance payload performance.

Antenna Design Analysis

ZelTech Solutions Engineering was contracted to evaluate design options for an airborne antenna system used to collect telemetry data from payload vehicle launches. Design challenges included required antenna gain, beam width limitations, and power restrictions. We provided a number of recommendations to the customer along with trade-offs to consider due to the design restrictions and physics limitations of the propagating and collected signal.

Dr. Orion Vanderlinde

Senior Vice President, Operations; ZelTech Chief Scientist

Read Bio

Dr. Vanderlinde has supported the DOD with subject matter expertise and program management since 2004. He received his PhD from Florida State University in Biological Science through a joint program with the College of Engineering and the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory where he studied energy transport in disease state tissues using custom designed RF pulse sequences on a 600MHz superconducting wide bore magnet. After three years of post-doctoral work in cancer metastasis, he successfully transitioned his academic career to DOD services supporting programs as a subject matter expert in molecular sequencing, digital signal processing of satellite sensor data, nuclear detonation (NUDET) Prompt Diagnostics effects, neural network design, complex algorithm development, and program management. In his current role with ZelTech, Dr. Vanderlinde oversees ZelTech’s operations in support of customer contracts ensuring strategic alignment with business objectives and he leads the company’s Internal Research and Development (IRAD) and Incubator Program (ZIP) fostering innovative technology development for both government and commercial markets.

Mr. Ghesquiere has supported the DOD with engineer expertise and program management since 2006. He has also held senior engineering and management positions in the automotive and HVAC sectors specializing in high volume manufacturing. He holds a bachelor's in electronics engineering from Florida A&M University and an MBA from West Texas A&M University.
